The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussein, joined His Excellency Sen. Uba Sani at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) project in Kakuri, Kaduna South, launching a transformative state initiative to revamp public transport.

Project Overview

The KBRT project reflects Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to overhauling transportation across Kaduna State’s urban and rural areas. Aimed at easing congestion, cutting commute times, boosting road safety, and fostering environmental sustainability with eco-friendly buses, it aligns with the SUSTAIN agenda to enhance mobility in bustling wards like Kakuri.

Key Highlights:

Scope of Work: The initiative involves constructing dedicated bus lanes, modern stations, and integrating green technology, with construction kicking off at key junctions near Kakuri market, set to expand city-wide. 

Impact: It will benefit thousands, offering reliable transport, reducing traffic snarls, and supporting traders and workers, while cutting emissions for a cleaner Kaduna South. 

Community Reception: Residents welcomed the move, with traders praising easier access, though some called for timely completion-local leaders thanked the Governor for this long-awaited relief.
