Freedom of Information (FOI)

Your right to access public information.

Our Commitment to Transparency

In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, Kaduna South Local Government is committed to making public records and information readily available to the public. The FOI Act establishes a "right-to-know" legal process by which citizens may request access to government information.

How to Make an FOI Request

Any member of the public can make a request for information. The request must be in writing and can be submitted through the following channels:

  • By Email: Send your detailed request to foi.requests@kadunasouthlga.gov.ng.
  • In Person: Submit a written application to the FOI Desk Officer at the Local Government Secretariat.

What to Include in Your Request

To help us process your request efficiently, please include the following:

  1. Your full name, contact address, and telephone number.
  2. A clear and specific description of the information you are requesting. The more specific you are, the faster we can respond.
  3. Your preferred format for receiving the information (e.g., electronic copy, hard copy).

Response Timeline

According to the FOI Act, we are obligated to respond to your request within 7 working days of receiving it. If access to the information is denied, we will provide a written notice explaining the reason for the denial and informing you of your right to appeal the decision.
