The Kaduna South Free Distribution of Essential Drugs and Maternal Kits project, a cornerstone health initiative in Kaduna South Local Government Area, is now in full swing, launched in October 2025 at the Local Government Secretariat. Launched by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Rayyan Hussein, this project embodies Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to bridging healthcare gaps across Kaduna State’s urban and rural areas. Aimed at enhancing medical reach, supporting maternal care, and fostering community well-being, it targets residents in diverse wards like Tudun Wada and Makera, aligning with the SUSTAIN agenda.

Key Highlights:

Scope of Work: The initiative includes ongoing free distribution of essential drugs and 100 Mama Kits monthly, alongside renovating all primary healthcare centers (PHCs) and a 70% subsidy on medical bills. Impact: It will serve thousands, improving maternal health and general care, while PHC upgrades ensure lasting benefits. Community Reception: Residents, especially pregnant women and caregivers, have expressed deep gratitude, hailing it as a lifeline for affordable treatment.

Driven by Governor Uba Sani’s vision and executed through Kaduna South under Chairman Rayyan Hussein’s guidance, this project leverages the Open Government Partnership for transparency.
