Kaduna South Launches Toll-Free Health Line to Bridge Healthcare Access Gap
Project Scope: Establishment of a new oll-Free Health Line to Bridge Healthcare Access Gap
Status: Completed and Operational
The Kaduna South Local Government has officially launched a new toll-free telephone line, 0800-00-44433, to provide residents with direct and free access to healthcare professionals.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Local Government Chairman, Honourable Rayyan Hussein, is a major step towards fulfilling his campaign promise to enhance primary healthcare delivery across the area. The new service allows citizens to call the number and speak directly with a health worker for consultations, inquiries, and to report health concerns without any hindrance or cost.
Speaking at the launch, Chairman Hussein emphasized that the project is designed to tackle several key issues.
"The toll-free line is designed to provide our people with direct access to healthcare professionals for inquiries, consultations, and health education," he stated.
He added that the line will serve as a trusted source of information, which is
"a crucial step in our efforts to combat fake news and misinformation in the health sector."
By handling basic health questions and concerns remotely, the administration also aims to reduce the patient load at local Primary Health Centers (PHCs), allowing clinic staff to focus on more critical, in-person cases.
"Our administration is committed to improving the health and well-being of our people,"
Chairman Hussein affirmed, urging all residents to take full advantage of the new service.
The launch, witnessed by various healthcare stakeholders, marks a significant development in the local government's strategy to make healthcare more accessible, responsive, and citizen-friendly.
Residents can now call 0800-00-44433 for any non-emergency health-related questions.
