The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, conducted an unannounced inspection visit to the council's two designated fertilizer distribution centers in Kakuri and Kurmin Mashi to monitor the ongoing 2026 Wet Season Free Fertilizer exercise.

Following an on-the-spot assessment, the Chairman expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the exercise, commending the local distribution committee, security personnel, and technical staff from CropIT for their efficient crowd management and seamless operations.

The inspection follows a joint monitoring exercise by key state officials, including the Honourable Commissioner of Agriculture, Hon. Murtala Dabo; the Chairman of the Security and Protocol Committee for the 2026 Fertilizer Distribution Programme, Alh. Bashir Muhammad MNI; and the Area Commander of the Kaduna Metropolitan Command, ACP Idris Bunu. The high-level delegation visited the sites to maintain strict security protocols and nip in the bud rumors regarding the illegal sale of collection tickets.

Reaffirming the policy of the state government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain issued a strong warning against extortion or commercialization of the relief materials.

"Fertilizer is 100% free under this programme. Any verified farmer who receives an official text message is entitled to two bags of fertilizer completely free of charge, and collection tickets cost nothing," Hon. Rayyan Hussain declared. "Do not buy or sell tickets under any circumstances. Anyone caught trying to monetize or disrupt this process will face the full weight of the law. We remain profoundly grateful to His Excellency Governor Senator Uba Sani CON for this people-centered intervention that directly relieves our farmers."
