The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, today represented the council at the Kaduna State Stakeholders Interactive Session organized by the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).

The high-level meeting brought together key public administrators, community leaders, and development specialists to discuss socio-environmental challenges and forge collaborative pathways for sustainable infrastructure development across ecological and power-producing communities in Kaduna State.

Presenting the specific priorities of Kaduna South, Hon. Rayyan Hussain raised an urgent plea for intervention regarding the Makera Water Plant. He emphasized that the plant remains the primary source of pipe-borne water for almost the entire local government area, warning that rapid physical intervention is required to restore, upgrade, and maintain the facility to guarantee clean water access for hundreds of thousands of residents daily.

In addition to municipal water infrastructure, the Chairman submitted formal requests for the comprehensive renovation and upgrading of ICT centers across all constituencies in Kaduna South to expand digital literacy, skill acquisition, and economic opportunities for the youth.

Hon. Rayyan Hussain expressed deep gratitude to the Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, the State Coordinator, and the commission’s leadership for establishing an interactive dialogue platform.

Kaduna South Local Government looks forward to a robust, long-term partnership with N-HYPPADEC to deliver tangible projects in flood mitigation, clean water supply, youth empowerment, and sustainable infrastructure."
