Tudun Wada North PHC Set for Operationalization as Kaduna South Strengthens Community Ownership

Tudun Wada North PHC Set for Operationalization as Kaduna South Strengthens Community Ownership

Published on June 11, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, has directed immediate measures to prepare the yet-to-be-operational Primary Healthcare Centre in Tudun Wada North for commissioning and service delivery following an assessment visit to the facility.

During the visit, the Chairman expressed concern over the vandalization of the facility, including the theft of electrical wiring and some essential medical supplies intended to support healthcare delivery. He was, however, informed by His Highness, Engr. Tahir Mahmud, Sarki Ruwan Zazzau, that individuals suspected of involvement had been apprehended and handed over to the relevant authorities.

The incident highlighted the important role of communities in protecting public infrastructure and ensuring that investments made to improve their welfare are preserved. While government has the responsibility to provide critical infrastructure and services, the Executive Chairman emphasized that community ownership, vigilance, and collective responsibility are essential to safeguarding public facilities.

Following his assessment, Hon. Rayyan Hussain immediately directed the cleaning of the facility and the installation of available equipment. Additional equipment and support are also being planned to ensure that the facility is adequately prepared to provide quality healthcare services to residents of Tudun Wada North and surrounding communities.

“Government has a responsibility to provide infrastructure and services for our people, but communities also have a responsibility to protect and take ownership of these investments. Prevention through vigilance is far better than responding after damage has been done. We must work together to protect this facility and ensure that it serves the people for whom it was built.” — Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA

The Kaduna South Local Government administration plans to commission and operationalize the facility before the end of the month, subject to the completion of the ongoing preparations. The intervention forms part of the administration’s broader commitment to expanding access to primary healthcare and strengthening healthcare service delivery in line with the SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON.
