The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, today flagged off a historic one-day free medical outreach at the Haj. Amina Namadi Sambo Primary Healthcare Centre in Kinkinau, organized in partnership with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State Chapter.

Staged as the largest medical outreach ever organized within the local government area, the event deployed over 50 medical doctors and nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare services to more than 2,000 residents from Kaduna South and neighboring communities. Services provided included free general health consultations, diagnostic checks, prescription medications, reading glasses, and specialized screenings.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Rayyan Hussain highlighted that the primary goal of the initiative is to cultivate a proactive health-seeking culture among community members while strengthening public confidence in local primary healthcare facilities.

The Chairman noted that the outreach builds upon a series of strategic healthcare interventions executed by the council this year, including an NYSC-partnered outreach that treated over 500 residents, as well as a collaboration with the Muslim World League that delivered free cataract surgeries to more than 200 patients. Additionally, the local administration continues to distribute Mama Kits to expectant mothers, offer a 70% subsidy on essential medications, and execute facility upgrades across all primary health centers.

"Our objective is to build the culture of visiting hospitals in our people and to strengthen trust in our primary healthcare centres," Hon. Rayyan Hussain stated. "Through continuous facility upgrades, medicine subsidies, and strategic partnerships like this record-breaking outreach with the NMA, we are ensuring that quality, affordable healthcare is directly accessible to every family close to home. I extend our profound gratitude to His Excellency Governor Senator Uba Sani CON for his unwavering support to the health sector."
