Kaduna South Local Government Area has been officially inaugurated and fully activated within the Open Government Partnership (OGP), marking a bold stride toward transparent and inclusive governance under State Co-Chair Muktar Ahmed Monrovia, Commissioner for Planning and Budget.
 

This activation reflects Kaduna State’s renewed OGP commitment, signed by Governor Uba Sani, aiming to deepen citizen involvement and accountability. Designed to empower residents across Kaduna South’s wards, it aligns with the SUSTAIN agenda to foster open, responsive governance and address local priorities like health and education.

Key Highlights:

Scope: The OGP Local Government Steering Committee, blending government and civil society, was launched with the OGP Handbook, completing a draft Action Plan focusing on transparency reforms.

Impact: It will engage thousands, enhancing trust and participation, with plans to refine service delivery across the LGA. Community 

Reception: Residents and leaders have welcomed this move, seeing it as a chance to shape governance, with praise for the Chairman’s global engagement.

Leadership and Execution: Led by Governor Uba Sani’s vision and executed through Chairman Hon. Rayyan Hussein’s oversight, this initiative gained momentum from his recent OGP Global Summit attendance in Spain. The Kaduna State Government, via the Planning and Budget Commission, ensures its smooth rollout.
