Published on July 8, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, has met with a representative of UNICEF Nigeria to explore innovations in education and digital transformation through the deployment of the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP).

The Nigeria Learning Passport is an online learning platform designed to support pupils and teachers from nursery through senior secondary school, with content aligned with the national curriculum. Discussions focused on the potential integration of the platform into Kaduna South Local Government’s planned School Management System (SMS).

The Executive Chairman shared plans for the development and deployment of a comprehensive digital School Management System designed to enable effective monitoring and tracking of public schools across Kaduna South. The proposed system is expected to support improved access to school data, strengthen monitoring, and provide a more effective platform for education planning and management.

Both parties agreed to explore the integration of the Nigeria Learning Passport into the proposed School Management System to enable seamless virtual learning and strengthen the use of technology in education. The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for pupils and teachers to access quality learning resources while supporting more efficient management of public schools.

“The future of education is digital, and we must prepare our children for that future today. We cannot afford to delay the transformation of our education system. Through the integration of digital learning platforms and effective school management systems, we can improve learning outcomes, strengthen accountability, and provide our children with the tools they need to succeed.” — Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA

The initiative aligns with the education and digital transformation priorities of the SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, which places strong emphasis on innovation, human capital development, and improved public service delivery.

Kaduna South Local Government remains committed to leveraging technology and strategic partnerships to improve education management, expand access to quality learning, and prepare children and teachers for the demands of a rapidly changing world.
