Hon. Rayyan Showcases Healthcare and Governance Innovations at UCLG World Congress in Morocco

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, is participating in the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Congress in Morocco, the largest global gathering of Local Government leaders.
The Congress provides a platform for Local Government leaders and development stakeholders from across the world to share experiences, innovations, and practical approaches to addressing challenges at the grassroots. Representing Kaduna South alongside the Honourable Commissioner for Planning and Budget Commission, Kaduna, Hon. Mukhtar Ahmed, Hon. Rayyan Hussain is showcasing the Local Government’s progress in healthcare transformation, open governance, digital innovation, and community participation.
Key initiatives being highlighted include Kaduna South’s Open Government Partnership (OGP) commitments, the digital transformation of healthcare and public systems, and efforts to strengthen Ward Development Committees as mechanisms for promoting community ownership, participation, and accountability.
The participation also provides an opportunity to demonstrate how local-level reforms and partnerships can produce meaningful improvements in healthcare access and service delivery while contributing to broader sustainable development objectives.

The Executive Chairman expressed appreciation to His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON for creating the enabling environment and providing the support that made the participation possible. He also acknowledged the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission for its continued encouragement and partnership, as well as SDGs Local Action for its support and collaboration in amplifying grassroots development.
The engagement reflects Kaduna South Local Government’s commitment to learning, sharing knowledge, and building partnerships that can accelerate development. Through its healthcare transformation initiatives, OGP commitments, digital transformation agenda, and community-based governance reforms, Kaduna South continues to position itself as a model for innovative and accountable grassroots development.
The Local Government remains committed to strengthening partnerships and implementing sustainable reforms that improve healthcare access, promote accountability, and create a stronger foundation for inclusive development in line with the vision of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON.
