Published on June 11, 2026

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, has paid an official visit to the Blue Camel Energy Plant in Kaduna as part of ongoing efforts to promote clean and renewable energy solutions and expand economic opportunities for young people across the Local Government.

The visit included a tour of the Blue Camel Assembly Plant and the Blue Camel Renewable Energy Training Academy, where the Chairman observed the technological innovation, research, and renewable energy solutions being developed in Kaduna South. The engagement focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in training, research, development, and skills acquisition in renewable energy technologies.

Discussions also centred on creating pathways for young people in Kaduna South to gain practical knowledge and skills in the growing renewable energy sector. Following the engagement, the Executive Chairman inaugurated a committee to drive the proposed partnership and develop a framework for youth participation and empowerment within the sector.

“The renewable energy sector presents an important opportunity for our young people. We must position them to acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience required to participate in emerging industries while also contributing to the fight against climate change. Our goal is to turn this partnership into practical opportunities for training, innovation, and sustainable livelihoods.” — Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA

The initiative aligns with Kaduna South Local Government’s climate action agenda and contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 13 on Climate Action. It also supports the broader climate change agenda of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON, who recently assented to the Kaduna State Climate Change Advisory Board Law 2026.

The Kaduna South Local Government administration remains committed to promoting sustainable development, supporting clean energy innovation, and creating new economic opportunities for young people through partnerships that combine environmental responsibility with skills development and economic empowerment.
