One hundred youths in Kaduna South Local Government have received employment contract letters as part of ongoing efforts to create jobs, strengthen local enterprises, and expand economic opportunities for young people across the communities.

The employment support was complemented by business grants for 20 young entrepreneurs and the allocation of workshop spaces at Panteka Market to several youths to enable them to establish and expand their businesses. The interventions are designed to promote self-reliance, strengthen grassroots enterprises, and stimulate local economic growth.

The Executive Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government, Hon. Rayyan Hussain MPSCM FICA, also announced that His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON has approved the training of 200 youths from Kaduna South at the Kaduna State Polytechnic Vocational Training and Skills Development Centre.

The beneficiaries will receive practical training in a range of vocational skills, including masonry, welding and fabrication, tiling, paint production, plumbing, and carpentry. Participants will also receive starter tools to support them as they begin applying their newly acquired skills and pursuing sustainable livelihoods.

The Executive Chairman stated that the initiatives are being implemented in line with the economic empowerment and human capital development objectives of the SUSTAIN Agenda of His Excellency Governor Uba Sani CON. He further assured beneficiaries that robust monitoring mechanisms would be deployed to ensure that the interventions achieve their intended objectives and translate into meaningful opportunities and improved livelihoods.
